Coast Conference sends three teams to 3C2A State Championships
3C2A MEN'S BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Coast Conference will be well-represented at the upcoming 3C2A Men's Basketball State Championships. On Saturday, three Coast Conference squads won their regional finals matchups to close out the Northern California playoffs and secure a trip to the state tournament.
The 2026 3C2A State Championships are set for March 13-15 at College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
Leading the way is defending state champion City College of San Francisco. The Coast Conference North Division champion Rams were the No. 1 seed for the Northern California Regional Playoffs and blew through the competition to punch their ticket to state.
After a first-round bye, CCSF defeated No. 16 Foothill College (85-52) and No. 9 Columbia College (84-59) to earn the program's 10th trip to the state tournament over the past 11 seasons.
The Rams, the North's No. 1 seed, take a 29-1 overall record and 18-game winning streak into their state championship quarterfinals matchup against South No. 4 San Diego City College (25-5) on Friday at 5 p.m.
CCSF is looking to capture back-to-back state titles and has won six in the program's history (1962, 2011, 2016, 2018, 2022, 2025), including a record five state championships by head coach Justin Labagh.
A pair of Coast Conference South Division squads are joining the Rams in Visalia. West Valley College earned the North No. 3 seed with San Jose City College taking the No. 4 spot.
West Valley takes a 24-6 overall record into the state championships. The Vikings, the No. 3 seed for the Northern California Regional Playoffs, took out No. 19 College of San Mateo 70-37 and No. 6 Yuba College 75-58 on its way to the state tournament.
The Vikings are headed to the state championships for the fifth consecutive season. West Valley will face South No. 2 seed Citrus College in its quarterfinal game on Friday at 7 p.m.
Rounding out the Coast Conference trio is San Jose City College. The Jaguars, Coast South champions, are the North's No. 4 seed for the state tournament. SJCC, seeded fourth for the NorCal playoffs, beat No. 13 Feather River College (78-64) and No. 5 Modesto Junior College (75-65) to secure the state championship tournament bid.
San Jose City, now 24-6 overall, is set to face South No. 1 seed Fullerton College in Friday's state championship quarterfinal at 1 p.m.
Winners advance to the state championship semifinals on Saturday with games at 5 and 7 p.m. The state championship final is scheduled for Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
