Monterey Peninsula, San Mateo complete undefeated conference runs to win Coast Championships
Both Monterey Peninsula College and College of San Mateo completed 10-0 undefeated runs through their respective divisions to capture 2025 Coast Conference championships. For MPC, it was the program's first Coast Conference North Division title in recent history while San Mateo captured its second Coast Conference South Division championship over the past four seasons (2025, 2022).
The Lobos and Bulldogs were two of five Coast Conference programs to qualify for the Northern California Regional Playoffs. Monterey Peninsula had the Coast's top seed, earning the No. 4 spot for the regionals. San Mateo was next at No. 6, with Cabrillo (No. 8), Hartnell (No. 10), and Ohlone (No. 17) also securing a postseason bid.
The Coast fared well in the playoffs with Cabrillo, Monterey Peninsula, and San Mateo all reaching the regional finals. But the three teams all came up a win short from a trip to the state championships.
Following the close of the regular season, the Coast Conference announced its 2025 postseason awards and all-conference teams.
In the Coast Conference North Division, MPC's Kayla Smith was named most valuable with the Lobos' Kit Moore taking home Coach of the Year honors. In the Coast South, San Mateo's Synia Hunt was selected MVP with CSM's Katie Goldhahn being named Coach of the Year.
